An Artistic Affaire - Printemps

Saluda, NC

Today was one of those days where it’s so pretty outside, you just have to get out and do something.  Saluda was having an Arts and Craft show and I thought I would drive on down.  I called Allison at the last minute and asked if she would like to join me.  Allison had never been to Saluda and thought it would be a fun trip.  We left my house around 1:30 and arrived at 2:15.  The weather was beautiful and we did a lot of walking.  If you have never been to Saluda, you are in for a treat.  It’s like turning back the clock to the 1950’s.  Main Street is just charming.  The first store we went in I bought two vintage lace pieces.

.This was the second store we went into.  Somewhere in Time.  What a delightful store!  All old and vintage stuff.  You could get lost in that store just looking at all the neat stuff.

Inside the store.

Lots of neat stuff.Darling chair and planter outside of the store. This kind of speaks for itself.

Allison and I had a wonderful lunch at a darling restaurant.  The walls were covered in beautiful art by local artists.  I took several pictures of the art work.

Allison really like this picture.

Allison ordering lunch.  She had a BLT and I had an old fashion egg salad sandwich.  The food was excellent!

On the counter in the restaurant they had a beautiful bouquet of peonies.  They smelled as good as they look.

The old depot in Saluda.

The police station and City Hall.  They don’t look like that in Asheville.  It really is a quaint town.  A nice place to visit, but I don’t think I would like to live there.  No movie theater  and not too  much to do.  I love Asheville because there is soooooo much to do, and yet we are only a few hours away from taking a trip into the past.  The best of both worlds.
