Easter

Easter brings back so many memories of when I was a child.   My mom always bought us new shoes, white gloves an Easter bonnet, and she always made us new dresses.  I don’t see little girls wearing bonnets or glove these days.  Heck, I don’t see many dressed up for church at all.  Kind of sad.  I love passing on my tradition to Nicole.  I loved buying her a new hat with gloves and shoes.  It was a special time.

This Easter I wasn’t able to share with my family, however, I share the special day with some very important friends.  They’re just like family.  Allison and Vera came over.  Allison brought an extra dessert and Vera brought me an Easter basket.  Buddy was here and his brother, Larry came.  I was thrilled to see him again.  He is such a sweet man.  He and his brother were brought up right by their momma.  Such manner you don’t see so often any more.  The last guess was my neighbor and good friend, Chas.

I did something different this year.  While I was getting dinner ready, I had every one decorate a porcelain egg.  I think every one had fun.  It even got a bit competitive.  I wish I had taken pictures of their eggs.

Here Larry is hiding away from the group to keep his a secret.

Allison and Chas getting serious.  With wine?

Working for their dinner.  Chas said he was afraid to come over next time for dinner because I might ask them to paint the bathroom.

Vera, our artist,  did a beautiful job.

Vera’s dog, Skippy, was not feeling well, so I told her not to leave him home alone and to bring him with her.  I never saw my girls the entire time Skippy was here.

Skippy is trying to help Buddy.

Larry is tired after all that painting.

My neighbor and friend, Chas.

My Easter table.

Beautiful roses.

My favorite spring time salt and pepper shakers.

These were the packages that my guests used to decorate their eggs.  I think every one had a good time.  Maybe next year I will have them paint my bathroom.  It needs it.

Blessings to all!
