WONDERFUL IRELAND!

I just returned from a wonderful trip to Ireland.  I left with Nicole on June 26th and returned on July 9th.  Amazing!  I have fallen in love with that beautiful green country.  If I could, I would love to have a home on the west coast of Ireland.

Here I am sitting in Asheville Airport waiting for my flight.  Allison was so sweet to take me to the airport.

This picture was taken 11 hours later on the plane in Newark airport.  Nicole had trouble getting here but she made it.  She took the picture right before we took off.  I was tired before I even started.

We arrived in Shannon Airport 30 minutes ahead of schedule.  Our taxi was not waiting so Nicole called Shelia (our hostess at our B&B) and we got Andy our driver to pick us up.  He was such a delightful person.  I had trouble understanding him and Nicole had some difficulty also.

We arrived at out B&B and the sight took our breath away.  Not only was the house beautiful, it had the most beautiful rose gardens.  Frank, Shelia’s husband loves to garden.  He said because of the lack of rain in the last week, the roses held their petals.  What a pretty sight.

This was the entry way to the home.  When we arrived Shelia came running out the door to give us a hug and a big warm welcome.

Flowers around the house.

After Nicole had her nap, Shelia drove us down the road about 2 miles to the nearest pub where we had dinner.  The pub was Durty Nelly’s.  We did not have the fish and chips, we had the salmon and brie and it was delicious!!!  We decided to walk back up Low Road to our B&B.  It was a straight shot and a flat road.

Across the street from the pub was Bunratty Castle.

We didn’t go in because it was closed for the day.  We started our walk back to B&B.

More flowers at the Ashgrove House.

Nicole was tired after our long night and day.  We were sitting outside and it was still light outside at 10:30pm.  We only knew it was late because we were so tired.

Blessings.
