An Artistic Affaire - Printemps

Saturday in Saluda

Three weeks ago, Buddy and I took a trip down to Saluda.  I asked him to go the old route that I had to take when I was at school here in Carolina.  The road was just as I remembered.  All twists and many turns.  I was scared then, and it was still kind of scary.  When we got to Saluda, there was a craft fair going on which we knew nothing about.  We went because an Art house was having an open house with several vendors.   The house is just charming.  They also teach classes and I hope to sign up for several in the Fall.

This was the view of the charming bungalow as we parked the car.

The porch was so charming and inviting.   I just wanted to sit down and swing.

They had all kinds of neat things hanging from the porch.

Inside was fun.  Lots of things to look at and lots of things I wanted to buy.  I was a good girl and only bought one thing and that was a gift for Buddy’s daughter and husband.

This is the owner.  She was a delight.  She gave me a list of classes and we talked books for quite a while.  She, too, is a book maker.  Some of her books were just beautiful!

After we left we went up town to find some lunch.  Some one suggested the Purple Onion.  When we got there the line was out the door and around the sidewalk.  The wait was too long so we went to the place Allison and I went to last Fall.  We even sat in the same booth.

The picture in back of Buddy is different, however, they do change art every so often to give budding artist a chance to display their art.  T he food was good.  We finished up and hit the road back to Asheville.  We did not go back the way we had come.  Too many twist and turns, and we would be going up hill.  We took the express way and we were home in no time.

Until next time,

Blessings!
