Waking up in Ireland

Monday morning.

This morning we had a typical Irish breakfast.  Lots of ham, sausage, 2 eggs, scones, blood sausage, (don’t ask) and delicious tea.  The eggs were perfect, but was even better, we had breakfast with Kate Campbell! What a treat.  She is so down to earth.

Kate and Nicole at breakfast. Is Nicole thrilled or what??

Shelia sets a beautiful breakfast table every morning.  I love her place mats.  Everything looks so pretty and inviting.

Home made scones.  Yummy!

Beautiful Irish linens graced the table every morning.

Fun place mats.

Breakfast minus the blood pudding.  Nicole liked it at first, however when she found out what was in it, she just couldn’t eat it.  Being the planning person that I am, I read all about  what an Irish breakfast consists of before I left for Ireland and I know exactly what was in it.  You want to know?  Look it up.

Nicole and I spent the day just relaxing and getting over our jet lag.  Our group got together on Monday night to discuss what we were going to do and all the places we were going to visit.  Tom, our guide was  quite the character.   This is the restaurant we ate at while we got to know each other.  Susanne sat across from me so I got to know her first.  She is a Ped’s nurse and her husband Bill, is a lawyer.  But we didn’t hold that against him on the trip.  he was really the most unlawyer I have ever met.  Great couple and funny as can be.  They were from the South.

Our restaurant had a thatch roof.  The government gives some kind of $ help for people that put up the thatched roofs.  They are so charming and what you usually think about when you think of Ireland.

Just another picture of the sign out front showing the beautiful flowers.  Everywhere you looked, there were flowers everywhere.  My kind of place.

We went to bed early because we were starting our first full day of our music tour the next day.  I loved our Tom.  He didn’t believe in getting up early on vacations so we did not have to be ready until 10:00am.  Gotta love the guy!

Blessings!
